The home quarantine has forced us to use VPN and other remote tools. The adoption of public cloud like AWS, Google, Microsoft etc has their own security mechanisms which come under the shared responsibility and have some limitations. As we are coming from a Cybersecurity background, we have initialized new and innovative technologies such as ZTNA, CASB, SASE and many more. Even the global bodies like Gartner and Forrester are also pushing us for cloud-based security posture. On Azure, AWS, Google Cloud platforms have also introduced SaaS based firewall, IDS and WAF and also the DDOS services got huge mileage in the current situation. In my view Covid has forced people to adopt all new technologies especially on cloud and hybrid environments. Yes, in short, the acceleration and thrust has come post covid only which helped us a lot.
The industry will definitely grow. The growth curve has taken a high inclination. As per Gartner by 2025 all endpoint security will move to cloud. The adoption of technologies in cloud-based security amongst all applications and infra will now pace up. The development of next generation SOC and more API integrations will happen. The visibility, response and remediation will be taking a sharp upward growth. Automation & correlation amongst technologies will more and more happen and this will give more layers to be broken by the outside attackers. MITTRE ATT&CK is already playing a big role in technology framework selection as more and more organizations are now adopting the same. Now this has changed and fortunately we were equipped with all the tools and processes to deliver the same level of support remotely.
