“What upset me the most,” Rahul said in a Telly Talk interview, “was how I was targeted and my family was targeted and abused. I received death threats. ‘Jaan se maar dunga, kabhi dikhna mat’, Kohli’s fans said.”

Despite the emotional toll, Vaidya has since chosen to move on, calling the matter closed. “It was a joke, but it was sensationalised and blown out of proportion,” he said. “But bygones be bygones.”

On May 17, Virat Kohli unblocked Rahul on Instagram, seemingly putting an end to the saga. Vaidya acknowledged the gesture with grace, writing on Instagram:

“Thanks, Virat Kohli, for unblocking me. You are one of the best batsmen cricket has ever seen and aap India ka garv ho! Jai Hind. God bless you and your family.”

The singer’s public message displayed a notable shift in tone—respectful, patriotic, and conciliatory—suggesting he harbored no lasting resentment.
