Even after announcing his retirement from T20Is, Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli continues to script history. The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently updated player records, and Kohli became the first and only cricketer in history to breach the 900-rating point mark across all three formats of the game.
In its latest rankings update, the ICC revealed that Kohli’s maximum career rating in T20 Internationals has been revised to 909. Although Kohli retired from the T20I format after leading India to a T20 World Cup title in 2024, this record cements his status as one of the greatest batters of all time.
His best-ever Test rating stands at 937 points (achieved in 2018), and his ODI peak is 909 points, also recorded in the same year.
With this achievement, Virat Kohli is now the only player ever to have crossed the 900-point threshold in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is—a feat unmatched by any player in the history of the sport.
Despite retiring from Tests and T20Is, Kohli continues to play One Day Internationals and is expected to feature in India’s upcoming ODI series against Australia in October 2025.
Kohli was last seen in action during the Champions Trophy 2025, where he played a pivotal role in helping India secure their second title in 12 years. Additionally, he recently lifted his maiden IPL trophy with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, ending the team’s 18-year title drought.
Off the field, the 36-year-old has also been in the limelight. He was recently spotted with wife Anushka Sharma in the stands at Wimbledon 2025, cheering during one of Novak Djokovic’s matches.
