Actor Kriti Kharbanda has claimed that she has become a victim of identity theft and has warned people to remain cautious. The Pagalpanti actress shared a screenshot on her Instagram story showing an unknown person impersonating her and messaging people on WhatsApp.
According to Kriti, the imposter is using her name and identity to contact individuals and ask random questions. She alerted her followers and urged them not to respond to any such messages, clarifying that the number being used does not belong to her.
The shared screenshot shows a conversation in which the recipient questions the authenticity of the number, saying, “This is not her number.” The impersonator allegedly responded, “I messaged from this baba,” raising further suspicion.
Cases of identity theft have become increasingly common in the entertainment industry. Recently, actor Rakul Preet Singh also reported a similar incident, stating that someone was impersonating her online.
Fans have been advised to verify information and remain cautious of messages claiming to be from celebrities through unofficial numbers or platforms.
