The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday unveiled a new parody video mocking the Congress leadership in Karnataka, amid ongoing rumours of a power tussle between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, D.K. Shivakumar.
Recently, Shivakumar dismissed talks of a so-called “November revolution,” clarifying that any major political change would come only in 2028, when the Congress aims to return to power in the state.
The 26-minute AI-generated video features animated caricatures of Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah, and Shivakumar. In the clip, Gandhi and Siddaramaiah message Shivakumar on WhatsApp before sending him a digital “scratch card.” When Shivakumar scratches it, he discovers his “reward” — a “No Chair November,” implying he won’t get the Chief Minister’s post — as the other two leaders laugh.
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the BJP wrote, “It is ‘No Chair November’ for @DKShivakumar,” along with hashtags #CongressFailsKarnataka and #CMChairFight.
Speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka has been circulating for months, with reports suggesting a “power-sharing” deal between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. However, Shivakumar has repeatedly maintained that he is a loyal party worker who will abide by the Congress high command’s decision.
While Siddaramaiah insists he will serve a full five-year term, minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan noted that Shivakumar still harbours hopes of becoming Chief Minister after 2028. Earlier reports had hinted at a “rotational CM formula,” though the Congress has never officially confirmed it.
